13 weeks

How far along? 13 weeks, 4 day
Total weight gain:  2.5 lbs total (but feels like more)
Maternity clothes? Nope
Stretch marks?  Nope.  Hoping I can make it again without any.
Sleep: Not great. Still waking up around 3:00 and can’t fall back asleep for an hour or so.  Some nights were worse because Niko was sick and I’m getting over a cold too.  Next week will be better, I’m sure of it!
Best moment this week: 13 week ultrasound!  The baby looked very healthy. :)
Miss Anything? Feeling 100% healthy
Movement: Nope
Food cravings:  Same stuff.
Gender prediction: I feel like it a boy.  After seeing the 1st ultrasound at 10 week, and all that movement, it just seemed like a boy.  Plus, I really can only picture Niko with a brother (maybe it’s his recent obsession with tackling and wrestling everyone)!  The ultrasound tech was trying to give us a “guess” but couldn’t get a good enough view.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  I am still a little queasy, but not as bad.
Labor Signs:  Nope
Symptoms:  Tired
Belly Button in or out?  In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!!!
Looking forward to:  15 week ultrasound.  They are having me come in for another check-up because Niko got a viral bug (either Roseola or slapped cheek) that caused him to have a pretty good fever and bright red rash all over his face.  Poor little guy!  If it was slapped cheek, it could cause some serious problems with the new baby (including miscarriage, stillborn, and some serious heart/circulatory problems).  I had blood work done immediately and it appears that I am immune, thank God!  So hopefully there is nothing to worry about.  To be on the safe side, they did more blood work, and will do another round at my 15 week appointment to check where my acute antibody levels are at.  For now, I am just praying and having faith-I know God is in complete control (and I pray that no matter the outcome-God will give me the strength and grace to deal with whatever is to come).

Looking perfect at 13 weeks!  Heart rate: 146 BPM

A little comparison...

11 Weeks

How far along? 11 weeks, 1 day (although, this is being posted almost a week later!)
Total weight gain:  3 lbs total (but feels like more)
Maternity clothes? Nope
Stretch marks?  Nope.  Hoping I can make it again without any.
Sleep: Ok, but not great.  I wake up every night around 3 to go to the bathroom and usually can’t fall back asleep for a while.
Best moment this week: Well, this was actually last week, but having our 1st ultrasound!  It was pretty incredible.  I thought that because we had seen this before with Niko, that it wouldn’t have such an impact.  But I teared up seeing our little 10 week old baby!  He/she was moving ALL over the place!!  And hearing the heartbeat was awesome.  Everything is looking very healthy, thank God!
Miss Anything? Having normal amounts of energy
Movement: Nope
Food cravings:  CARBS!!!  PB & J sandwiches, beef cup of noodles, and DJ’s wings and Hawaiian shrimp.  So random!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Unfortunately, I have been much queasier with this one, but thankfully-no throwing up.  I was pretty lucky with Niko, having very little nausea.  I think that’s why bland carbs sound so good.  The thought of eating meat used to make me pretty sick, but I’m getting better now.
Labor Signs:  Nope
Symptoms:  Tired and nauseous
Belly Button in or out?  In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to:  13 week ultrasound and finding out next week if Ashley is having a boy or girl!! :)

10 Week ultrasound

Baby looked very healthy and was moving like crazy! Heart rate was 167 bpm.

Here we go, round two!!

I found out on January 12th that we were going to have another baby!  I took the test about 10 minutes before walking out the door to meet Ashley and Aariann for lunch at Azteca.  I was so excited that I wanted to tell Landon right away, but made myself wait so I could surprise him in some cute way again.  I told Niko though, I knew my secret would be safe with him! :)

It was really hard not to tell the girls at lunch.  Especially considering that Ash is pregnant and we were talking about how we wanted to be pregnant together!  I just said hopefully soon!  After lunch, I went to the bookstore to get a new book for Niko about having a new baby.  He loves reading books, so I knew Landon wouldn’t think anything of it when I told him that I got a new book for him to read to Niko.  The book is called “God Gave Us Two.”  Such a cute book-but I was a little surprised when we got to the end and the polar bears actually had twins!  Not the case with us!   Landon read Niko the book and looked at me a few pages in and asked “are you serious?!?” with a big smile on his face.  I was so happy to tell him “YES!!!”  I took this picture right after.

We decided to tell our parents in some cool way also.  But that required us waiting a few weeks, which was killing me!!!  We originally were going to wait until Valentine’s day, but then, the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl!  We had been watching every game, all season, with my family.  Pete would also be in town for the big game, and Lisa was having her family over for a party too.  So we decided to do it then.  It was perfect. :)   We mailed this picture out to Mark, Debby and the kids, and to Grandma Norma as well. We dropped the picture off (with some skittles) to Lisa and the Chapman grandparents that morning, and gave it to my parents about 20 minutes prior to kickoff.  It was a great day, and we got our first Super Bowl win!
