How far along? 38 weeks and 5 days

Total weight gain:  23 lbs

Maternity clothes?  Same stuff

Stretch marks?  Hopefully I can make it without!

Sleep: Most nights I’m still waking up for an hour or two, but sometimes I am surprised by a restful night!

Best moment this week:  38 week appointment.  They did another growth ultrasound (I’m measuring at 33 instead of 38) and we saw that the baby looks great!  He’s actually measuring on the large side now.  Large belly and head, projected to weigh in the high 7’s.  We will see how accurate that is, my guess is 6 lbs 10 oz!

Miss Anything?  Being comfortable.

Movement: Lots.  He jerks my whole belly around

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope

Labor Signs:  I had some uncomfortable contractions this weekend, and had to start timing them.  Luckily, they subsided after about an hour and were just sporadic the rest of the day.  He has definitely dropped more!  I remember feeling like this a few days before Niko came!  My longtime prediction of September 18th is looking pretty good!

Symptoms:  Hips, heartburn, pressure and contractions!

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but tired too.

Looking forward to:  Meeting my baby!!!



36 Weeks

How far along? 36 weeks and 2 days

Total weight gain:  21 lbs
Maternity clothes?  Same stuff
Stretch marks?  Not that I can see.  As I said before, I feel like my skin can’t stretch anymore, so that makes me a little nervous.
Sleep: I miss a full nights rest.
Best moment this week:  36 week appointment!  I am about 2 cm and he has dropped some!  Getting ready….
Miss Anything?  Being comfortable.

34 weeks

Stretch marks?  Not yet, but I feel like my skin is stretched to the max.

Sleep: A little better.  I wake up once or twice, but seem to be able to fall back asleep quicker.  It is harder to get comfortable.

Best moment this week: Having Pete home.  We have missed him so much!!!  Niko adores him, which is so cute to watch.  He runs around saying “Pete! Pete!” and wants him to play. Pete said it was starting to hurt his back-I looked at him with my big belly and just rolled my eyes! :)  Also, Niko is doing so well potty training, I am so proud of him!  He makes it most days without accidents, it just gets a little tricky going out in public or when he gets too busy playing with friends.

Miss Anything?  Being able to move normally

Food cravings:  Cinnibons and fruit (finally a healthy craving)

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope

Labor Signs:  Some stronger contractions here and there.

Symptoms:  Lower back/tailbone aches, as before.  Lots of heartburn, even from drinking water. I forgot to mention this before, but have been experiencing it for a couple months.

Looking forward to:  Finishing up the nursery, we are finally making progress.  I feel like I have so much to do around the house before he gets here, but it’s hard to find the time with Niko and fatigue.



31 Week Ultrasound

Maternity clothes?  Same stuff

Stretch marks?  So far-so good!

Sleep: Not great.  I have been waking up a lot and usually lay awake for an hour or so.

Best moment this week: Ashley had baby Christian!!!  I am so happy that he is here and that they are both healthy (bonus that he is adorable)!  Also, I got to peek at our little guy.  I am measuring right on but told the doc that I really wanted to see him again-he said no prob!  The ultrasound pictures are beautiful and so far, he looks just like big brother! He is around 3.5 lbs, which is perfect.  Makes me so happy that he looks healthy!

Miss Anything?  Wine and sleeping normal

Best moment this week: The baby shower for Ashley and the bridal shower for Laura!  Busy, but lots of fun!

We finally got a few pics of us with our bumps!  I love thinking about all that we have been through together!  We were almost 26 (me) and 34 (Ash) weeks here!  :)

24 weeks

24 weeks, 1 day

How far along? 24 weeks

Total weight gain:  13 lbs

Maternity clothes? Same stuff

Stretch marks?  I thought I saw a possible one-but it was just a little scratch and is now gone. :)  I would have been in trouble if I was getting them this early!!! 

Sleep: Not great.  I have been waking up at 3 am and can’t go back to sleep for a couple hours.  Little guy is kicking up a storm.

Best moment this week: It was actually last week-but we found out from Tyson and Brea that they are expecting baby #2!  They should be about 4 months apart.  I am guessing/hoping it’s a boy!

Miss Anything?  Being able to run stairs.  I love doing this in the summer but my joints have been loosening up and don’t feel very good while running stairs (didn’t have this problem with Niko).  I have tried running hill sprints and doing plyos with Landon a couple times and this seems to be fine.

Movement: Lots!

Symptoms:  Sore joints and hips.  Stretching seems to help a little.

Looking forward to:  Our busy month of June!  Ava’s pirate party, Ashley’s baby shower, Laura’s bridal shower, and hoopfest!  And moving into our new office next week!

21 weeks

Maternity clothes? Just wearing looser, pre-pregnancy shirts and jeans with rubber band to button

Stretch marks?  Nope. 

Sleep: pretty good-using my body pillow now :)

Best moment this week: Celebrating mother’s day!   We made a great lunch for my mom and grandma, then barbequed with Lisa’s family for dinner.  Perfect food, weather, and company!  Pete came into town too and it’s always great seeing him!

Miss Anything?  A flat stomach!  I’m starting to feel huge.

Movement: Lots!  Even saw him moving my stomach

Food cravings:  Chips and sweets (all the bad stuff)

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope

Labor Signs:  A few Braxton Hicks contractions, but nothing bad. 

Symptoms:  My lower back is still sore by the end of the night-carrying around Niko doesn’t help! :)  A little heartburn from time to time and, as I already said, I’m just feeling big (and I still have another 15+ lbs to go)!

Looking forward to:  Seeing Landon’s family in Puyallup this weekend.  We will finally be able to watch Gio’s baseball game and see him celebrate his 1^st communion!  Our little godson is growing up!  Niko loves being around his little uncle and auntie!

19 weeks

19 weeks and 4 days

 

We had a great time in North Carolina celebrating Blake and Steff's wedding!  It was awesome to see all of our friends again and to enjoy the warm weather.  We got to go to the beach the next day to lay out, paddle board, and enjoy some good food (and shaved ice)!  We also were able to run around NYC for a few hours during a layover on our flight home.  I loved having some time with just the two (or technically 3) of us-even if we did miss Niko like crazy.  Amazing trip!

 

 

 

19 week ultrasound

I'm getting this posted SO late, but here are the 19 week ultrasound pics!  It’s officially a boy!!!  And he is gorgeous already! :)

17 Weeks

 

How far along? 17 weeks, 3 day

Total weight gain:  5.5 lbs

Maternity clothes? Just wearing looser, pre-pregnancy shirts and jeans with rubber band to button

Stretch marks?  Nope. 

Sleep: pretty good!

Best moment this week: Hanging out with Aariann and Ash at dinner.  I love catching up with them!  We always end up laughing the whole time. :)  Plus, my pregnant butt love those chips and salsa!

Miss Anything? White wine has been sounding really good with this nice weather!

Movement: Yes!!! I only really notice it when I lay down at night.  Landon even got to feel a few of his flips!

Food cravings:  Rice Krispie treats

Symptoms:  My tailbone has been sore.  It seems REALLY early for this to be starting!!!

15 weeks

 

How far along? 15 weeks, 6 day

Total weight gain:  3.5 lbs total

Maternity clothes? I bought a cute maternity shirt with my mom…for the coming months :)

Stretch marks?  Nope.  Hoping I can make it again without any.

Sleep: same

Best moment this week: 15 week ultrasound!  The baby looked great…and, we pretty much found out the gender! :)

Movement: Maybe??

Food cravings:  Same stuff.  Pasta salad this week. 

Gender prediction: We found out that my feelings were right!!  It’s a boy (unofficially until the gender ultrasound in 4 weeks.  But, I would say the ultrasound pic is pretty much a slam dunk).  We told a few family members, but won’t officially announce until we confirm the news.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Not really.  I just have to make sure my stomach doesn’t get empty.

Labor Signs:  Nope

Symptoms:  Stomach is starting to pop

Looking forward to:  Planning!  Now that we “know” it’s a boy, I can look for names and nursery ideas!!! Super excited! :)  Also, I can’t wait to feel some real movement!

We told the gender news to Lisa and DJ the evening after the ultrasound, she refused to wait!!  My family had to wait until the day after because my parents were out of town.  We revealed to them with fortune cookies, after a big Chinese food dinner.

Stretch marks?  Nope.  Hoping I can make it again without any.

Sleep: Not great. Still waking up around 3:00 and can’t fall back asleep for an hour or so.  Some nights were worse because Niko was sick and I’m getting over a cold too.  Next week will be better, I’m sure of it!

Best moment this week: 13 week ultrasound!  The baby looked very healthy. :)

Gender prediction: I feel like it a boy.  After seeing the 1^st ultrasound at 10 week, and all that movement, it just seemed like a boy.  Plus, I really can only picture Niko with a brother (maybe it’s his recent obsession with tackling and wrestling everyone)!  The ultrasound tech was trying to give us a “guess” but couldn’t get a good enough view.

Anything making you queasy or sick:  I am still a little queasy, but not as bad.

Looking forward to:  15 week ultrasound.  They are having me come in for another check-up because Niko got a viral bug (either Roseola or slapped cheek) that caused him to have a pretty good fever and bright red rash all over his face.  Poor little guy!  If it was slapped cheek, it could cause some serious problems with the new baby (including miscarriage, stillborn, and some serious heart/circulatory problems).  I had blood work done immediately and it appears that I am immune, thank God!  So hopefully there is nothing to worry about.  To be on the safe side, they did more blood work, and will do another round at my 15 week appointment to check where my acute antibody levels are at.  For now, I am just praying and having faith-I know God is in complete control (and I pray that no matter the outcome-God will give me the strength and grace to deal with whatever is to come).

Sleep: Ok, but not great.  I wake up every night around 3 to go to the bathroom and usually can’t fall back asleep for a while.
Best moment this week: Well, this was actually last week, but having our 1^st ultrasound!  It was pretty incredible.  I thought that because we had seen this before with Niko, that it wouldn’t have such an impact.  But I teared up seeing our little 10 week old baby!  He/she was moving ALL over the place!!  And hearing the heartbeat was awesome.  Everything is looking very healthy, thank God!

Movement: Nope
Food cravings:  CARBS!!!  PB & J sandwiches, beef cup of noodles, and DJ’s wings and Hawaiian shrimp.  So random!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Unfortunately, I have been much queasier with this one, but thankfully-no throwing up.  I was pretty lucky with Niko, having very little nausea.  I think that’s why bland carbs sound so good.  The thought of eating meat used to make me pretty sick, but I’m getting better now.
